GOLF COURSE - MONTE CASTROVE

www.campodegolfmeis.comTeleph.: +34 986 68 05 33 The golf course is situated ten minutes from the village of Sanxenxo, in the area surrounding the top of the Mount Castrove in Silván de Armenteira, Meis, Pontevedra. It has got a natural journey in a Galician pine grove. The course is equipped with wide streets of “lies”, “dog-legs”, lakes and natural obstacles inside an environment full of the quiet mountain, with a splendid view of the Rías of Pontevedra an Arousa and the region of Salnés. Among the technical values we must point out equilibrated Par and Slop, what makes it has a competitive journey for all the levels. The course, which covers 53 hectares, was opened on the 17th of May 2000. It offers at present 18 holes, course to practice and school. As it has the best facilities for the practice of this sport, the 22nd EUROPEAN LADIES TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP of 2001 was held in this course. |

The golf course Monte
Castrove is managed by the Foundation of the same name,
created on the 21st of February 1997 and constituted by the
councils of Pontevedra, Meis, Sanxenxo, Villagarcía de Arosa,
Meaño, Cambados, Vilanova de Arousa and Ribadumia, as well
as the Golf Club Chan do Fento and the Spanish Federation of
golf. The land was given by the Mount Community Silván de
Armenteira, and the project was financed by the eight
councils mentioned, the Xunta of Galicia, the County council
of Pontevedra, the Spanish Federation of golf and the
Superior Sports Council. Among the goals of the Foundation Monte Castrove are creating hiking routes in the surroundings of the course, the organization of golf championships which promote different companies of the region, and the promotion of this sport among the school children.
